New maelstrom 21inch beast

Not to mention it has been used in the Pro Audio world for years and years and years...

Indeed. You can snag 20" steel baskets that are just as good without paying the extra.

This is a driver for the Xmax number crunchers - those who value Xmax over all else. I spoke with a gentleman who acquired an 18" and he found it quite inefficient for what it was. He did say it sounded nice though.

Just a heads up if you are looking for something SPL based //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif

I will disagree with you there. This is a SQ based sub for home theater. It uses XBL obviously and will have extremely low distortion and high output.

Frankly, I don't care whether you agree or disagree. There are times when running little simulation programs and reading articles on the Internet simply don't equate to real world situations.

Perhaps it might be better if you contacted the owner of the 18" driver who has first-hand experience and told me this and tell him he is wrong. Tell him you ran a little simulation program and read an article on the Internet and that is the basis for calling him a liar.

Oh snaps!

BTW I'm still waiting on my shipment of Mach5 beer...

Ah well, It really isn't even worth the time to reply to his posts. If I say something is white he will say it is black. Not because I'm wrong, but just because I said white. In fact, I think I will just graduate him into the Ignore user section - something I have never done... till now.

Not at all. What I disagreed with was the Xmax part. It may be inefficient, but it was designed for SQ primarily, not for Xmax, that's what I was saying. If it sounds good I could care less about the efficiency to be honest.
