heres the deal. my girlfriend bought me an l7 for christmas. i just hooked it up today. (i got into an accident i had to hold off) the sub is dual 4 ohms, wired in parrel to make a 2 ohm load. the sub is in a box for hifisound and its a single 12" enclosure. the sub is hooked up to a zx750.1 amp. (750 rms to match the sub)

ive heard so many good things about this sub and it just didnt do it for me. could it be that the box was to small. have a leak? i mean the dam box came to me and the hole for the sub was a little to small so i had to trim it out. would a leak in the box make that much of a difference? my sub output on my head unit is maxed. any ideas? thanks to anyone who can help me out.

also note that: my amp is up half way. but my friend had a 800 watt rms amp driving two 12s and it seems much louder.

my head unit goes up to 34 i can only get to 22 before my dam speakers distort. which i have amp with the right amp and everything? could it be because of me being restricted buy the speakers so i can hit 34?

could my cheap head unit be a problem? im rocking a sony xplod cdx-gt10w. when i turn up my lows my sub and speakers both repsond. when i turn up or down my sub output my sub and speakers respond. it that right i mean, wtf?

sorry, i keep adding more. its the sony xplod cdx-gt10w, at the bottom of the post i added more you can read whats going on with the deck.

figure a 12l7 with a zx should get plenty loud, uninstall the sub look for leaks in the box made by the manufacturer, if there are no aparnt "shitty corners, and shitty construction problems" go to homedepot and get some storm door sealing faom the pvc kind will due get 1/2" line the bottom of the gasket, also u may need a larger enclosure depeneding on size after disp. i find that the l7;s play out around 34 hz the best, make sure u dont have a subsonic filter to high or a lowpass to low visa versa, and what year is the l7

2006, line the bottom of the box or the the part of the sub that meets the box for a seal? how do i know where 34 hhz is? is it the knob next to the gain and bass boost? the subsonic filter is off, should it be on?

sealed, ive been looking up details and i cannot find much at all on this HU to answer your voltage question.
