Just got it today. Still new in box. I had to take it out and do a quick test of it to make sure it was ok and it was . Very clean and rather heavy deck...not sure what the weight was but it felt very solid.

The deck is new and comes with warranty papers and cd software to upload pics to deck. Deck also uses a SD card which is included.

I couldnt make up my mind on what to use so I bought 2 decks and the other deck came in first..so I am just going to keep whats installed in the car...

If I dont sell this one then thats fine too...I can save it for a rainy day or something.. $235 shipped

details on this deck are here:

JVC soured my taste for their products. The KD-ADV38 is listed as satellite radio ready, but it's not. I tried three units, & three differnt xm brains and the XM never worked. So if you are looking for XM, don't bother with the KD-ADV38 or the KD-NX5000. You would think in testing before they released the line they would have caught it, but they didn't realize until I email them repeatedly. They finally acknowleded it. Other than that they are good radios.

well....I am sure Pioneer soured a lot of people's taste when their pico fuses in their 880prs decks all bit the dust and they got engine whine and electrical noise from then on....

I am not familair with exactly which unit the ADV38 is but I looked at all the JVC lines current and older and the older Arsenal stuff is better to me....

I have also known others with JVC decks and I always dismissed them until recently.

this deck is no junk...if nobody wants it , I will be fine keeping it....

It's a great deck, just I wouldn't buy it if I was thinking about XM. That model may work, but their navigation piece and the adv38 don't.

JVC Arsenal decks are the sh!t imo... I've been running my 1st Arsenal deck for probably 3-4years now, it happens to be a dvd player and has seen pretty heavy use. my old truck I offroaded pretty heavy and caught air all 4 tires jumping a hill while watching music video's and I don't think it even skipped.. I take it offroading in my truck in my sig also. hard enough to tear the skid plate which is metal unlike the older dodge dakota //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif it also happens to have optical audio outs and I didn't even know wth it was back then 3-4 years ago and even now there aren't too many amps/processors that're universal that have that to my knowledge... if you find one lmk via pm, I'd be interested in testing it out, mainly an amp with built in 5.1 processing //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif prehaps then I could get rid of my audio control system 90 model 11 center channel power spatial restoration unit //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

but yeah, I got rid of my wifes alpine 7897 because I got her a JVC dvd player similar to mine that isn't even an arsenal one and it's good imo. not as much built in processing, but if you want to be an audiophile you'll probably have amps and active xovers anyway... thus almost eliminating the need for on-board xovers and eqs //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif these decks do have a hipass/lowpass xover adjusting the sub frequency automatically sets the hipass to the same cutoff //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif
