the only way i see anything changing is if the government cut minimum wage. that would enable employers to pay workers and hire more people. prices on everything would go down with minimum wage and people would be able to afford things and put money back into the economy. maybe keep taxes where theyre at right now which would be double the amount of what they should be if minimum wage went down but that money can be cut in half once collected and use half for all kinds of funding.

there is a lot of things that can b done that might help. its just people dont like change and for most people there happy with siting around and having things handed to them. i hate that some people think i wana sit around and do sh it. Last week well standing on a line to get food, i had a lady that had cancer say i want what im aloud to get and nothing more. she said if i can get food stamps i want it if i can get diabilty i want it . its just so many people want more then what they can get . i know a few people that are smart and good with there hands and cant find work. there is people that are book smart and cant find work. I know a guy that is dumb and cant put a screw in a hole and he has a good job. he is good with his words and knows the right people.

its 4am-8am less then 10.00 i go tomrrow at 10am for a interview. im ready able and willing to work. I spent all day calling and i got the same things sorry no work at this time. they dont care what i can do or what i will do for them. I dont wana sit home and get money but if i can get help and not worry about workin a bs job and b able to look at my pace. i feel like i have some time cuz i do have money saved up but if i wait for the last min i would b broke and im sure to make my self sick .i know alot of younger guys on here get up and work a bs job and get paid di ck for it. For those guys i did it to up to the point i had my car and my life f-ed up a guy that ran a red light drunk. its not easy for me to say i wana go back to the same bs job but i tried i called and said i will take ANYTHING. i would clean up piss and sh it just to have a job. im not here sayin i want to live off the gov but i have the option to get help. it was set up for people like me. ready able and willing to work.

dude i found a job in under a week.. its all in how u present urself... and quit calling and actually show up in person... its alot easier for someone to tell u no on the phone then it is in person... and check back with them everyday... what kind of work experience do u have to deserve more then 11-12bucks a hr

your right its better to go in person. i know from a few people alot of places i been tryin its hit or miss cuz there not looking to hire or they have a few people head of me that they wana bring in for a interview. i would hate to drive around and waste gas. i have been callin and i will call tomrrow again for the places that said call back or well get back to you. i was a backroom manger and i have been driving forklfts and i can drive anything with wheels. i was thinkin a cab driver would b a good start for me.

most back rooms jobs out here pay 8.00+ a hour and i have over 5 years doin this crap. i was a manager and people that drive trucks will get 10.00+. i know a guy that works for job where he drives forlifts and they just hired a kid and he is makin 10.75 with less then 3 years work history. he put a good word in for me but he said its goin to b after jan cuz work is slow and they only hired the new guy cuz 2 people left. i guess he has to b 2 people .lol

how can you say its stupid to lower minimum wage? thats the main reason people are laying people off is because they cant afford to pay them. i may not be the best at explaining things, but i mean its not totally stupid either

this.. I was there in the past.. had alot of long days and got very sick from working to much ( literally ) .. I worked overnight stocking @toys r us 4 nights a week 11-7, then went straight to my construction job from 8-5..

Then Would DJ friday and Saturday nights..

How would that affect any job whose base salary is above minimum? Or do you mean simply underpaying people across the board even more than they are now, and not expecting them to do anything about it?

Its hard out here. Even people with BA degree's cant get a job as a waiter. Lowering minimum wage and hiring more people might make more sense but then theres benifits and more ppl means less shifts and lower hours...

Something has to be done to decrease unemployment...

i would i have bad hands do to my car accident. i got a call today from a close friend and he said im nuts tryin to lift stuff with how my hands are now adays. i had 2 hand dr tell me that my hands will never b the same and i will have to live life with pain and just go to work. i would love to join the army. i have killed befor and i know i can again.
