just bought my first ipod and i love it i had a buddy of mine load a bunch of songs from his computer to my ipod i cant figure out how to put the music from my ipod to my computer i already loaded i tunes on to my laptop.

Shoulda gotten a Zune. Sorry, bud.

At least once your iPod starts malfunctioning in a few months, you'll have a good excuse to get one.

I had an iPod for a couple months before it started acting all screwy. It only turned on when it felt like it, and the volume would randomly readjust. I was happy when it got stolen.

thats not helping with the issue that i have i just bought it and was wondering how to navigate the i tunes to take the songs off to another computer its working fine

It won't allow you to do that because the iPod is synced to another person's library. Another reason iPods ****.

For the durability, the ipod is probably the best mp3 player on the market.

And ew, at whoever said to get a Zune, I bought one of the newer high end models because the new Ipod 80gb classics weren't out yet. Within a week I quickly returned that crappy device and got the Ipod.

Software incompatibility, battery issues, sound quality, lack of features all make the Zune subpar.

One thing I will say about ipod's... good audio quality on the newer ones...

But I have had to fix many ipods for friends and I can't beleive I bought one. I have had my G5 for almost 3 years now though adn no problems.

Try winamp... it connects to ipods pretty well and it might let you locate which file on the ipod is the song you want and you can jsut copy it directly and rename it to its proper file name. What itunes does is just copy it to the ipod and randomize the names (but leaves the tags intact) so when you manually try to find songs on it you can't.
