actually its a great idea. and depending how well you seal the front of the woofers from the trunk, you will get some really great results

What sub options should I use? Four cheaper ones sealed? 2 pretty good ported? or one really good ported?

depends on the room you have or willing to take up. i know mustang trunks are on teh small side.

Nothing is going to be in the trunk, the box will be where my backseat is now. The subs will be directly behind the driver/passanger seats

IB = infinite baffle

all you have to do is seal off the front and rear waves of the subwoofer

a common IB install includes drivers mounted on the rear deck of the car with the deck and back seat sealed off from the rest of the car
