Hello everyone ive been researching a topic but have seen mixed answers so i though i would ask you all to see if you would know.

The deal: I have the cda 9811 head unit and i just got an ipod nano for christmas and i want to hook it up. Is it possible? I dont want to get the fm transmitter because of all the static. I want a cable to plug into my ipod and the other end to plug into the head unit, now is this possible?

yea if your hu has the preouts/ connections to do it

Alpine KCA-121B cable and a RCA to headphone cable. Plug the RCA's into the 121B that plugs into the AI-Net on the HU.

Are you 100% sure this will work? and where would i get the alpine KCA-121B cable, im sure i could get the rca to headphone cable at radio shack.

Any Car Audio Store should be able to get you one.

If not E-Bay sells them for around $10.00

Make sure you turn on the AUX input on the HU and your set.

Ok this is the back of my hu. again its the cda 9811, and i turned the auxiliary on but here is the thing.

Cant i hook up a cable to the cd changer out and the other end to my ipod so that way the stereo charges my ipod at the same time?

Here are a couple of pics, one is the red and white rca's and the other pic i dont know what it is. Is it the cd changer out?

the pic on the left, that conection is the AI-Net port.

thats what you gona plug the KCA-121B cable in too. then get a short RCA to mini jack cable that plugs in to the KCA-121B cable.

You will need a 420i Box for charging the IPod.

really? its not worth the 100 bucks though. well thats what the alpine site says the price is. hmmm. what to do

And i read that the 420i box is only for 2004 and newer model hu's...

my alpine head unit is an older model. m-bus. i wanted to connect my cd ipod to. wat adaptor will i use? i dont know how to set it into aux in. theres no menu for this.

i thnk its a cdm-75xx or 74xx. its an m-bus. il try to take a picture of the face so somebody cant point me wer to set the aux in.

use a part by american international (nucleus) called a NCIRCA, it will have an ipod connection at the bottom and will charge and work with your kca121b.
