new here, first setup - need some help

I just bought a car that will be my daily driver, and with that I decided to finally take the plunge and build a nice stereo to make driving more enjoyable. First of all, money is not an issue. I believe in spending money to get nice, quality products, so I'm not worried about cost. I tried to post links, but was told i had too many links, so i had to leave them out - sorry! Hope you don't mind googling the products. Second of all, sorry for the noob questions.

I've done lots of research but there's just so much to learn. Everytime i think i understand something i find something else on the subject that has me guessing. I came across this site while doing research so i figured I'd sign up and ask some of my questions here and hopefully get an idea what i'm doing. I am aiming for a mostly SQ setup but with a nice 'thump'

Here are the products i've been looking at and therefore leaning towads:

-Head Unit: Alpine CDE-123 (3 4-volt pre outs, which i have learned is important)

-Subs: 2x IDMAX10's (I did research on IDQ's vs. IDMAX's and decided MAX's are probably closer to what i am hoping for out of the system). Now, what is going to be better 2 ohm or 4 ohm?

Now questions i have this far:

-Mono Amp: since i am doing 2x 1000 watt rms subs, do i need a 2000 watt rms amp? Depending if i go with 2 ohm or 4 ohm subs do i need a 1 ohm, 2 ohm, 4 ohm, 8 ohm, etc amp?

-Mids and highs: If i go with the subs mentioned, what kind of mid and high power do i need to even out the power of the subs?

Sorry for the noob questions. I look forward to hearing your responses, and learning so i can continue my planning process.

Thanks!

The subs are nice and you should be very happy. The VC config depends on the amp, or the amp depends on which VC's you get. With 2 2ohm subs you can get a .5 or 2 ohm load while you can get a 1 or 4 ohm load with D4's.

If money is not really an issue why not get a nice HU so you can run a active front stage?

I'd do the d4's at 4ohms on something like the JBL GTO 24001...just my.02
