ok, so after bringing my brahma in for a recone, and selling some older stuff off, ive decided to upgrade headunits. ive been looking at the newer pioneers/alpines. and am looking ot spend no more than 250. prefer closer to 200 but i can fork out a little more if need be. anyways, on my current headunit, i really like the BBE feature that it has. brings the soundstage right up to my ears, this helps since i dont have comps/kicks installed. id like BBE on my next deck, but if it doesnt have it and offers a little more power (im running speakers of the deck at the moment @17watts rms) i think ill be ok. id also like seperate sub control(my decks old school //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif )

anyways, just wanted to get your thoughts/oppinions. thanks for your time!

*also, what advantages are there with having a higher voltage preout?

Edit: also, waht about the panasonic decks? they seem pretty decent aswell.

I'm leaning toward Nak myself here soon, most likely the 500 however that is beyond your preset limit.

The higher the preout voltage from the source the stronger the signal which means in theory you can back off your gains, at least this is what they say. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Just to let u know the more you are will to pay for a HU..the better option it offers. I think for a deck less then $200..all you can get is 2v preouts..face down, maybe 2 preouts (front/rear), simple mid, tweet, bass adjustment..and a LCD screen. Unless you go to Ebay..you get the new pionner DEH-P780MP for less then $300...(between 250 to 298).

well after reading your original post it seems that you have an alpine, would you like to get another or do brands not really matter. clarion makes some good cheap head units and i think you can get one with 4v preouts for around 200.

my current head units an JVC LX100 "el Kameleon"

i may be able to spend a little more if it would be worth while. i found some nice refurbished pana's on ebay.

p.s. that pioneer DEH-P780MP looks sick!

also, the Pioneer premier DEH-P680MP looks pretty decent aswell. any pro's/cons to the pioneer vs. alpines and whatnot? if i remember correctly, i heard that people had some trouble with the ground wires and whatnot on the new pioneers?
