New Head Unit Advices

What kind of car? If you have an integrated factory HU, might be better off doing an external processor like an Audison bit one...

Well small car... 1 din unit. But i dont mind chosing double din or even doing that thing: external processor which i dont have a clue of what it is. The thing is I know these things are costy. But i am from Brazil myself. I have an address of a parent to ship stuff from ebay or from here in case people dont ship to me throught USPS like I always did. Pay always throught paypal. The truth is if u buy a mx 406 here in Brazil u will pay around 3k USD just for the head unit. Everything here in Brazil is much more expensive. But My knowledge is zero about sound. But I found this forum and i am trying to learn something. =p

I figured let me start with the most important thing. The type of sound i want: SQ - I know it might be costy but buying the heart of the sound (i think) and then i keep buying the other parts, speaker, amp, sub... And just pay the cost of the instalation.

Well I was mostly speaking old school Eclipse HU's in general. Perhaps I could be way off because I'm personally into SPL, (Don't get big into SQ) but they sounded good to me. The Eclipse HU I used and loved was the Eclipse CD3000.

Guys, I saw someone here in Brazil selling a deh-p880prs with the pioneer steering wheel controler. Missing box, manual, mic for auto EQ.

The guy said he used for about one and a half year and is not using for around one year. The rotatory buttons are kind of used. lost the paint. Asking around 270usd in my currency.

Too much or is it a good deal?

I was hoping to find someone selling a clarion Clarion DRZ9255, but i think thats gonna be impossible =p

The knobs start to look worn within about 6 mos, so I wouldn't worry about that. The price is KINDA high considering when new in the states they were 350-400 USD, if memory serves. I would buy something new(er) though if it were me. It's an excellent SQ HU though.
