New Head Unit Advices

Hello guys. I would like some help to chose a head unit that just brings the sound quality to the system. I am starting with the head unit and then going for the other stuff. I am pretty sure i wont have money for everything, so i prefer buying something good to start.

I saw some pioneers, alpines and even clarion that has some nice models, but i am confused and cant decide by myself whats better for bringing reality and quality to the sound.

I think the older Eclipse HU's were excellent for SQ. As far as products on the shelf today I wouldn't really be able to tell you for sure other than as far as I knew Clarion still makes a great SQ HU. Remember, you get what you pay for..

What kind of car? If you have an integrated factory HU, might be better off doing an external processor like an Audison bit one...

What model of Eclipse you think is the best fo SQ?

Well I was mostly speaking old school Eclipse HU's in general. Perhaps I could be way off because I'm personally into SPL, (Don't get big into SQ) but they sounded good to me. The Eclipse HU I used and loved was the Eclipse CD3000.

Eclipse CD8445 or similar

Alpine 9886/9887

Kenwood x993, x994, or x995

Pioneer PRS880/PRS800

Any of those will have great SQ.
