Hey,
New to the forum, do my own mechanical work but audio not my forte. I have a couple of issues...quite beyond me, both of them:
1. I just installed new 4 way Sony Explod 6 X 9 rear speakers in my 70 Chevelle SS.
2. I have a 6 month old Pioneer DEH-6400BT 22 watt RMS X 4 CD radio unit
I am getting an occasional static in the speakers (both). Both will clear up and be as clear as a bell then STATIC again. Checked the unit ground, seems sound. All wires new except the ones running from head unit back to the speakers. Could there be a bare spot shorting on frame?
3. I just bought a couple of 2.75 in. speakers for under dash. Heard them at the car audio shop and they sounded GOOD. I am getting distortion of all sorts; but as I turn the volume down, the distortion subsides. When I can barely hear them, they sound clear. Do I need an amp? Could it be related to the static and crackle in the rear speakers?
Thanks in advance for the help!!
Tim
Love to have some input! I guess maybe not a very interesting topic?
