Hey, Im new to the forum. I have searched these forums for a while just to get random info and you guys are great. I finally joined. Anyways, I have an A2300hct and a awt12x. Wel the awt kinda seizured on me the other day. It sounded blown for about 4 hours in that time frame it was tuned down. Then it recovered from its temporary epilepsy only to pop then no longer reproduce anything. Is it blown? I think so, but shouldn't it even try to make any noise? The amp is still laying down power, I do not know how much no tester. So, how do I tell if it is blown I am not a complete idiot, so technical responeses will work (lol no comments about idiocy and the awt pls). And is it possible to repair if it is blown, I think like 6 months ago while surfing I came across info on how to build, fix woofers. And 1 more question. If I get this thing fixed I will get rid of it. What would be a good replacement. I like sq, but I also liked the loudness throug the entire frquncy range of the linear. I was kinda wondering bout the type x's, or idmax (it'll kinda have to be 2 of each) or the fosgate t212. Sorry for the long post, but from what I've seen you guys can handle it. thanks in advance. BTW 1998 ford ranger extended cab. and what the h*** is the name of that program to predict output.

best way is to take the speaker out of the box and inspect the coil, check for black/burn marks, see if the cone/coil can still actually move, and if your not sure after that hook the sub up to a 9v battery and see if it does anything, if not.....most likely blown

Well I guess, I should start thinking bout replacement. I didn't buy this setup- for me. Someone bought it through me. They wanted to sell it so I bought it. I like clearer soounding stuff!! But I was hoping I could nail the notes wicked loud. Loud and Clear no L7.
