hey, i just got the kenwood 600 watt 2 channel amp, and it powers my subs fine, but the lowpass crossover is set at 80 hz and i hate it, do i have to buy an external x-over?

you could build a passive one. might be cheaper.

You could go passive, as fuel said, or active. I like active, personally. More control. Some head units have LPF on them, although I dont' know if yours does or not. If you want to go passive XO, you can make your own.

is it possible to make a variable passive one with a pot or somehting. i dont know much about electronics.

how might i go about building a x-over, i would be extrememly interested in this,i love to do my own work. and i would like to build it so my subs play from about 65 hz and down, is this possible?

well all it is really is a coil i think (i'm not really sure it's been a while) there should be a site somewhere saying what size coil to use. i'll search around and if i find anything i'll post it for ya bro!
