Ok I have an 06 Hyundai elantra I had a alpine mrp-500 wired up and 2 kicker comp vr 15's everything was working fine but I wanted to upgrade n send more power to my subs. So I bought the mrp-1000 I swapped it out connected all the cables right then I turned on my car. My radio had. Power and so did the amp I turned the music up on my radio and I could barley hear the subs so I turned it a a little more next thing I know my head unit went blank the clock above the head unit and my amp. Idk what happened mybe a fuse blew or something idk? Please help !

Hey I just check the fuse that says radio it's a 10 volt fuse I believe but at any rate I swapped it wit the spare fuse it came on the as soon as I turned up the music it burnt out again should I replace it with a bigger fuse? 20 or 30 maybe?

no there is a reason why it is blowing. you have a short somewhere

Here's a quick rundown of my set up I can post pics w just my phone but I don't see how it could be a short when already had an amp and it never cut out on me, but the power is a small wire looks to be 10 or 12 gauge and it's inside the fuse to my radio which is a 10 too my ground it mounted on a big metal piece on the back seat an that looks o be a 4 gauge ( it's thick) and the remote runs from the battery to the amp and it's also thick looks like 4 gauge. I never had a problem until I put in this bigger amp it keeps blowing the fuses

Repeat that part where you said that you have a 10-12ga wire running to inside the fuse on your radio to a ground.... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/confused.gif.e820e0216602db4765798ac39d28caa9.gif that didn't make sense to me
