I just put my system together in my truck and it's not working out. I have a single 10" jl w1, Focal 165 comps in the front doors and a jl 300/4 off factory head unit. I'm running the comps 4 ohm stereo on channel 1 and 2 and bridged 3 and 4 to to the svc 4 ohm sub.
All that said. The way these JL amps work, I'm not balanced (4ohm stereo/4 mono) and the comps are only getting about 38 watts each....and the sub is under powered. So, I need to do something. I'm looking at 2 options:
1. adding a jl 250/1 and running the sub on it's own amp.
2. selling the JL and getting an alpine pdx f5. Does any one know if the alpine will run at full power with the front channels bridged to 4 ohm mono (left and right) and the sub channel 4 ohm mono to the sub? That should be good power and allow me to add another sub someday if I want.
Or does anyone recommend a different option? I don't want to spend much more but I need to fix it.
