New AMP install not working (PICS)

I initially had an Alpine MRP-M1000 AMP powering 2 12" AudioQue woofers which I had paid to be installed. If I turned the bass level or volume too high the AMP would cut out and I'd have to restart my car.

I attempted to install an AudioQue 1200D today but I'm not having any luck. Everything looks to be wired correctly but I'll refer to your expertise. Here are some shots.

One wire went to Speaker Level Input but there wasn't the right input for it so I left it unplugged. I assumed it was for a bass knob that I have yet to install but my new amp comes with one.

I swapped these wires around thinking I might just have it backwards but nothing has worked.

Sorry if I neglected to supply enough info. I really don't want to bring the car back just for an Amp swap but I don't know where to go from here. The new Amps power light is on so at least I know it's not completely DOA...any thoughts?

I'm making the bet he has duel 4 subs and the shop wired down to 1ohm, and that alpine isnt 1ohm stable.
I think you are correct.

maybe so as i can see from terminal cups the subs are parallel. also i don't see rca's connected on aq1200 either.
It's wired in parallel and there aren't any RCA's...would that be because it's a stock head unit and I'm not powering my speakers with the AMP?

Now I'm confused even more...how would the old amp work without rca connections?

you're not sending an audio signal to your amp. you need to understand basic english, you said you figured the speaker level "inputs" were to a bass knob. definition of "input". you need to get a LOC or pre-amp output from an aftermarket headunit.

im not sure if an aq1200 has high level inputs. if not, get a aftermarket head unit(itll sound better), or a High level output converter. if the aq1200 does have high input connections, swap the old wires to the new connector supplied with the amp.

So you got ride of a nice amp cause you got the wrong subs? Really!
I didn't get rid of it, it's sitting right next to me

you need either an aftermarket Head unit with Pre amp Outs for subwoofer
or u need a line out converter
ok, can you steer me in the right direction in regards to the line out converter?

also, why did the first amp work without one?
