neon light wirin help

i had bought these led light that go anywhere. i put them to light up my dash board but i for some reason couldnt wire it to direct power ( a fuse or something). i think the reason for this is because the **** thing has a ciggarette lighter plug with a on and off button. i had encountered this before and simply cut off theplug and wired directly to power but i guess with the on and off button it is different. how can i wire this without the cig. plug.

p.s. i tried wiring it to my fog light on and off button but i think it got too much volt cuz the led started smokin and it blew.

i just wired mine to the acc and ground

split the wire from the neon (cut off the cig. plug in thingy) and the one with the stripe should be the positive. Hook that up to a switch (the acc.) and ground the other wire somewhere. Then just wire up some power from your battery or from you rem. on your amp or HU or whatever suits your needs.........
