Neon Installation Problems

I installed a cd player in a 95 neon and for some reason it does not work. The light next to the cd slot comes on when the car is on or in acc. It is a folddown face unit and the light and cd slot are behind the face. The display on the face refuses to come on and the cd slot doesn't take any cd's. Anyone know what the problem is?

The ground is the fat black wire right?

I connected all the wires with but-connectors twice and used the wiring diagram off of install doctor.
