I buy and sell cars as a way to supplement my income and sometimes I find goodies in the cars I buy.

What I cam across in the latest purchase was the following:

---Butler Audio Tube Driver Model 475

---Butler Audio Tube Driver Model 1500

---AudioControl 3XS Four Channel Crossover

I've been searching around a bit, but haven't been able to find out a whole lot about any of it, except for the fact that people seem to be interested in them.

Basically what I'm trying to find out is:

1) What would be an ideal setup, top to bottom, if I were to try to incorporate this equipment into a setup?

1.1) Would I even want to use this equipment, or just go with modern technology?

2) For what purpose or goal would I want to use a tube amp setup in a car?

3) What would be a good estimate of the value of the equipment should I decide to sell it?

Here's what we've got:

Virtually worthless. I'll pay shipping, go ahead and box them up I will get rid of them for you.
Thanks for the free bump, but no thanks. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/rolleyes.gif.c1fef805e9d1464d377451cd5bc18bfb.gif

So other than being a hell of a find, "virtually worthless", and falling out of chairs, does anybody have any actual wisdom on any of these?

From what I've dug up, you have around 1200.00 sitting there. Not very efficient and run hot (you have to also let them warm up), but that's some very solid and pure wattage, like a solid class A.

Very highend old school sound quality amps you have there sir. Those amps would be used by someone who considers themselves purist and believe that nothing produces a better sound than that of the "warm" sound of a tube amp. Definitely something worth keeping and using or even selling and making a nice profit. If you do decide to sale them then go to one of the audiophile forums and check around first......Great find!!!
