Need help please...

My set up: Front stage Rainbow SLC's running off of a 4 channel eclipse (ea 4000) bridged getting about 150-200w rms at 4ohms. My sub is a Tc 1000 12" running off of a alpine sub amp pushing around 500w rms at 2ohms. My question is: Would it be worth it to run two rear mid bass drivers in the rear? I would be sacrificing some power from the front stage by doing this. I would want to run the rears off of the eclipse amp because I can use two channels in mono. If I decide to do this the front and rears would be getting around 65w rms.

Any recommendations welcome.

Wire up those SLC unbridged and see if you like them that way... that'll probably help you make the decision as to whether or not you need mids in the rear.

I love the sound I'm getting from them now, just could use a little more below 80Hz is all. I have them low passed @70hz now and my sub low passed at 70hz. I listen to my stereo pretty loud and the SLC's don't do that great at higher volumes when crossed at 50hz.

If I were to run some mids in the rear, I could cross the SLC's around 100hz, run the rear mids from 50hz to 100hz and let my sub do the work 50hz and lower.

Is there something wrong with this kind of logic? I'm kind of new at this.

very confused as to why you would cross your mid over so low, not alot of 6" mids can handle going that low. I wouldnt cross them over any lower than 80, and let the sub take over 80hz and below

Ever consider maybe putting small subs in for the rears instead of more mids?

You'll have to verify your mounting depth and all that good stuff, but using a couple of those would likely give you a lot more bass than another set of mids.

The Slc's are loud and sound good. I just would like more of a punch out of the woofers.

63 HZ for low to mid playing, and 80 Hz for high power playing. Usually you have a sub X-overed at 80HZ and under to make up for any speaker loss.

Maybe try upgrading/swapping to the kick midbass instead of the standard mid.
