so currently i have my 15" L7 in a box thats a lil bit over 3 cubes and tuned to 42hz. i like the loud boomy in it however im in the plans of building a bigger box. my rough estimate measurements are somewhere around 30X16X30. because its gonna be such a bigger box should i stay tuned at 42hz or should i lower it a lil bit to somethin round 35?

edit: also was wondering is it better to have sub on passenger side, port on driver side or other way around?

well i figure put in the biggest possible box for my trunk right? the more air space the better right? 30x16x30 is just under 5' wit port tuned to 35hz. the 42hz port did good in the 3ft box but i wanna go with a bigger box tuned lower, hoping to get a little bit louder.

so this is going in a trunk?,,just make sure you leave room for the waves to inter the cabin.one of my favorite box's was 5.5 after port for a single 10:) 5 cube for a 15 isnt what i would call to big

5 cuft should be great...i had 2 of them in 10 cuft and did 143.1 off 1200 watts at the headrest

For the port side question, i believe that if u put the port on the passenger side, it'll be louder at the driver's seat. And if u put port on the driver side, it'll be louder on passenger seat.

thats what the idiots at meca thought also...i had port on drivers side and it was ~1 db louder on that side than the passenger side

yeh goin in the trunk of a 2dr cavalier. i plan to eventually seal it off when i have the time. kicker recommends minimum 3 max of 6ft. so i figure 5ft round 35hz should be loud and play everything nicely.

im runnin the 1 off bout 1200 watts so we see what happens
