or just get the jbl 600.1. the type r's are 300w rms i believe...and they are known to not like more power then recommended unless you really know what your doing. No point in spending the extra money and getting the jbl 1200.1......get the 600.1
i say that cuz i have 2 type-R 12" and i have a 1300 watt 2 channel amp running them at about 500x2 rms so i know they can handle it otherwise i wouldnt recommend anything if i didnt have expierence with it
well i again only said that from expierence do whatever u want but i would get the 1200.1 just to have it incase i ever wanted to expand my system add more subs or something but thats just my 2 cents in the subject
didnt i say in my first reply that he could get it and keep the gains low i know many of my friends that did that and they made out just fine...i havent heard of any of them blowing there subs
the type R's are known to actually take significantly MORE than their RMS rating... one of the high points... they will take up to about 600 watts, if you're nice to tehm....
either choice is fine, just which ever fitsyour budget
Well, the Type R won't get much louder after about 400 watts or so, so what's the point of throwing more at it? Like I said, it'll just hurt the sub in the long run.
its kool but i only said it from expierence and mine have been going strong since i bought this amp and oh yeah and its bridged down to 2 ohms so they can handle alot of power and abuse if thats what you wanna call it
