I have a rf bd500.1 amp and it is stable down to 2 ohms. I have it running 2 10 polks@ 2 ohms and it dosent even get warm. Can someone tell me if it would be safe to wire 2 12 " JL W3s or W6s at 1.5 ohms (6 ohm dvc). could the rockford bd handle a 1.5 ohm load even though they say its only stabl down to 2ohms.

it can handle it, but is not suggested. if ur gonna insist on doing this, then i'd make sure ur amp gets some good ventilation. a cooling fan would help too. i didn't think they actually worked but i went out and bought one for the heck of it and my amp hasn't shut off on me since. so i guess thats a good sign.

I would try a better box maybe band pass. Your amp will handle 1.5 ohms but i wound turn the gain down a bit.

The Kappa's have a high sensitivity rating of 93 db so the X802-5 would be fine. A good high sensitivity 8" sub in a properly sized box would fit...
