you cant compare this year's mavs team to anything 'recently'.
this is the little general's first full season as head coach (took over midway through last year) and won coach of the year.

with the addition/subtraction of about 4 players, and the fact that the mavs had 3 players last year who were new to the playoffs, there is no way that you can compare the mavs this season to anything in the past.

then that means dallas is an un-proven postseason team, wheras detroit has made it to the conference finals 3 staraight years and are on the verge of their 4th

Also, since Dallas is such a great franchise, how many banners do they have hanging???

lol. again dallas does not have the shut down defense that detroit can employ. also detroit can shut down dirk. they have proved that you cannot beat them with a single player. it takes a team effort.
