Nascar Renames Cup ... again

How does one "select" a driver? The cars look the same, the drivers are all WASPs...I don't see heterogeny...therefore how does one select?
I have wondered the same thing. It's hard to see how personality or individuality can come through. I think for a lot of these hardcore redneck boys it must come down to the pretty colors of the cars. Either that or all rednecks are closet *****.

possible truth here

I wondered about this package (I think) comcast sells. It is a deal where they sync you up to a camera inside the car, so you see what he sees.

Would you chose your favorite driver? The one most likely to crash? The one least likely to crash? If your driver crashed in the 1st lap, it would seem like you are SOL...but oftentimes it is the crashes (or the potential for crash) that seems to draw the crowds.

i think the possibility of crashing is exactly what draws the most crowds

its just like with pro wrestling, people may know its stupid to watch, or that its fake/rigged, but they continue to do so, hoping someone gets hurt..

its a little morbid

(I do watch when they go to watkins glen though, awesome seeing these technological dionosaurs on a roadcourse)

Formula 1 = 1% Driver Skill, 99% Car

If you want real racing, take all these aerodynamic aids off the cars, make them lightweight, and give them a good amount of power. Fast cars + true driving skill = good racing.

And I'd much rather watch ALMS.

Morgan
If they didn't have wings on the car, two things would happen:

A) They would have to go slower because of the lack of traction/downforce

B) They would be crashing EVERYWHERE.

Ever watch a race when a car loses its rear spoiler, no matter the type of race? They are lucky to not completely lose control of the car in the matter of 1 second.

If you don't think it doesn't take skill to drive an F1 car 200+ MPH around some ridiculous track like laguna seca, then you're just a retard.

Indy cars are EXTREMELY lightweight and EXTREMELY powerful.
