sealed I would go IDMAX. Ported I personally would go with the D9.

yeah, with 900 watts there is no doubt in my mind that they would sound great, but I think 2 12" XXX's with 1200+ watts per will get a lot louder. I know eD isn't popular in this parts, but Ben Milne told me that (through his testing ), he found that the 13Ov.2 is 2 DB's louder than the IDMAX. However, he forgot to mention at what frequency, box size, how many watts, etc., so I have no idea if he is right or not.

XXXs are extremely rare (if you can find them, theyre very expensive), IDMax are hard to find, and elemental designs subs arent in the same league as these.

if your going to give the XXX 1400+ along with a decent sized box, if only aorund 1200rms i go with d9 of IDmax

Also a shop near me has a couple old style XXX's for sale so if you decide on them lemme know, there goin for cheap since they got the new ones in the store.

The 10s are recommended for ~1000

the 12s 1200-1300 and

the 15s 1400-2kw

They can take a ton of power

Cool. Thanks for your responses. We CANNOT go ported so we will be using sealed, no matter what woofer. Actually, the new AA Havoc caught my attention. I sent Chad an E-mail and am still waiting for a response.

They are not extremely Rare AT ALL, especially on this forum....and they are cheaper than a IDMAX....so take that as you wish...

XXX does not sound to great in a sealed environment. I think if you go XXX you are wasting your money, and potential of a great sub (supposedly) The IDMAX's on the other hand are what you are looking for, with the D9's IMO right behind. IDMAX's just sound great .

This was based off of emax testing. The Idmax was placed in a 1.4 cubic foot sealed box and the Ov.2 was in a 1.0 cubic foot, both were pushed until the breaking point with 2400 watts on tap.

No, it's true. I called ID, and they said that they really don't have any idea when the next shipment is going to be to SD. They said that they hoped the end of next week, but it all depends when they receive shipments from one supplier they've been having a lot of trouble with. The IDMAX is out.

Pretty much down to the Havoc and the D9.
