Narrowed it down: 1 8" ported or 1 10" sealed?

Ok maybe it's not really "narrowed down", but I'm getting there. I may be picking up a used LRx1.400 so I will have some nice power to play with. Go active on my fronts later...

Considering these:

--The package deal from SSA 1 10" Icon and SAE-1000D (sealed)

--If I get a smaller 250w-ish amp:

-Two Diamond D308D2's sealed depending on the amp

-Two Tang Band W8-1363SB sealed ""

-One IDQv2 sealed depending on the amp

-One RE SR10 sealed

-One AA Assassin8 ported

-One Dayton 8" Reference ported

-One Lorentz Audio 12" slimline sealed

--If I get that LRx1.400:

-One Diamond M610D2 sealed

-One Diamond D610D2 sealed

-One IDQv3 sealed

-One RE SE10 sealed

-One 10W6v2 sealed

Obviously I have a lot of choices here, so please help me narrow it down. Still have an around $500 budget including box materials/wiring extras.

I have a REALLY small space requirement. Under .75 ft^3. Probably more like .5-.6 I have a rear shock tower brace and I want the box to fit behind it. I will probably end up mounting my amps on the rear deck or something. Here is a pic. It's before the brace is in, but you can see where the bumps for the rear shock towers are. Imagine fitting the box behind there. I haven't taken any measurements yet, but I'd say from the back of the brace to the back of the seat I have about 7-8" of depth. Then at the top of the seat, after the angle, probably 3-4" of depth from the top of the seat to the brace.

I know I have a lot of choices listed, so how about this. I'm going for more SQ, but I used to have two 10" Type-Rs sealed in 1.5 ft^3. SQ was lacking, and I know I won't be getting that kind of output with a ported 8, but I'd gladly give up some output for better SQ. SOOOO, given the same sub, in 8" in a ported enclosure vs. the same sub but 10" in a sealed box about the same size, what would you guys do? Would the 8" version ported have that much more output when compared to the 10" sealed...on the same amount of power? Yes, I realize that is a really general question, but we're all here either a.) learning or b.) teaching so please bare with me. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

he didnt say "8 ported, 10 sealed or 12 ported"
LoL...

Btw, of those listed, I have personally heard the IDQv2, W6v2 (10 and 12) and Diamond D6 and like them all. Just wondering if there are better choices for less $ or what you guys would do. Seems like W6 is winning and I would surely be happy with one. So thanks for the replies and keep 'em coming. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

I have an awesome box built for that trunk that will house 3 10's....still room for an amp rack behind the rear seat....and with a custom MDF carpet floor can get to the spare once everything is put in without moving a thing......the stock floor carpet will work also.....

Thanks for the offer. But the rear brace was the reason for re-doing the system anyway. I had originally planned to just keep my amps and switch out the speakers and subs (used to have Type-R all the way around and Alpine MRV-F345 and MRD-M1001 amps...and no I didn't get it all at BB, but I did overpay...most of us have done it in the beginning). Got the CDTs. Then I got the brace, but my old box went past the shock towers, so I sold that and the M1001 amp/subs. Now I've been needing bass ever since, but I don't need any more output than the Type-Rs put out. Just want a decent amount of nice clean bass. When I graduate college, I'll have a different car/SUV for my all out SPL monster system or even a louder SQ system. This is a small car and I want to keep weight down, so no need for multiple drivers unless they're some small 8 inchers. Thanks again though. Send me some pics of that set-up installed if you have some. I'd like to see it...

Also considering one 10" FI Q sealed...
