My two Sundown SA12's D4's arrived today!

I made my decision to get them yesterday so I started shopping around only to find that all the local shops near me where out of stock, as well as every online outlet I checked except for woofersetc. I was hesitant to order through them because I have heard mixed reviews about them. I read a lot of negative reviews about people who ordered items that showed in stock on the website, only to receive a phone call later saying they didn't have them in stock and the buyer had to wait.

I really didn't want to wait to get them from other sites or stores so I gave woofersetc a call and was told that yes, they were in stock and ready to ship. I made my order on Friday afternoon and received them in the afternoon on Saturday. I'm in Vegas and thankfully they ship out from California so the shipping time was really quick. They arrived in perfect shape so I have to say my first experience with woofersetc was a rather good one if anyone was deciding about ordering from them.

I'm still waiting on my Audioque 1200 to be delivered and am also having a 4cf enclosure tuned to 35Hz being built for me right now (I live in an apartment and have no tools). Everything should be installed by this coming up Friday though //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif After everything is installed I'll see how they compare to my previous setups which were a 15" Fi SSD(3.5cf 35Hz, 1000 watts rms) and a 18" Fi SP4(8cf 33Hz, 1000 watts rms), both of which were in my old 08 Hyundai hatchback. I now own a 2011 Honda Civic. Anyways here are some pics of one of them

WoofersEtc.com has more stock of our product than any place in the world other than our shop (sometimes they have stuff we've ran out of) -- glad you had a good experience with them and hope you enjoy those 12s //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Functionally the 4-spoke is a great basket for this type of woofer; even with our spacer it is shallower than a 12-spoke and for the spider size we use it offers plenty of clearance. I've brought in and looked at several other frames but as far as open tools I still prefer the 4-spoke for price to performance on our SD and SA lines (as I have not considered frames with open venting due to the alternate vent methods used on these drivers).

Once I've finished the entire new "big boy" frame platform I may go back and tool a 10/12/15 set of frames for shallower / lower power drivers to use on our SD and SA lines, though //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif More similar to the SA-8 v.2 frame than our new 10/12/15 units.

Cosmetics, of course, is up to the beholder //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

I hate the looks of 4 spokes
I've never really liked it either but it's grown on me lol

Lol this' date=' and if you ran proper power to it, you would've neveerrrr sold it[/quote']
It was hooked up to a Rubicon 2500D but I was just waiting to get an HO alt before I cranked up the power. Then I bought a new car that couldn't fit that beast so plans changed. However the SP4 was a VERY nice sub, kinda wish I never sold it //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

Yeah I was very thankful they had some in stock. All the other sites were saying they wouldn't have them in stock until like the 27th I believe? I REALLY didn't want to wait more than a week for these subs lol.

So I finally got everything installed today. Unfortunately, due to me kinda half assing the measurements I originally took, the enclosure is just slightly to big to fit in the trunk. Just an inch shorter and it would have fit lol. So I now have the enclosure on the back seats until I get another enclosure built (or I might just remove the back seats and possibly make a wall for future setups). The subs and port are facing up but I still need to figure out a way to properly secure it. For now I just have the passenger seat moved all the way back and leaned back snug against the enclosure to keep it from moving back and forth.

My previous setups were in a 2008 Hyundai Accent Hatchback, with no sound deadening. The 15" SSD was behind the rear seats, and the rear seats were completely removed to fit the 18" SP4.

The Civic coupe I have now has the complete trunk and doors sound deadened with Raammat.

So far after only about 30 minutes of listening I would have to say this is my favorite setup so far. To me, it sounds better than both my SSD and SP4, and is probably very close if not just as loud as the 18" SP4. It plays the lows much better than the Fi Subs as well. All I can say is that I'm a very happy customer and will more than likely be buying more sundown products in the future. I'll get more pictures of the setup later.
