I fail.
Murph got this little thing just to test or for a backup amp for the wife's car. Thought I'd test it for you guys since there's soooo much talk about them because of the retarded low price.

Lets see if its a good value. I guess this is the 1k? Judging by the model number. Although it says "1500 watts" in the case. I don't know what that's about.

I'm not going to do a full write up on it. I'll let the pics speak for themselves. But I want y'all to pay close attention to the O-Scope in all of the pics.

Setting it unloaded. 35v. Looks promising sicne that seems to indicate 1,200w or so clean. This is very, VERY little gain. Maybe... 8 o'clock on the dial when 7 o'clock or so is 0%.

2 ohm nominal. Crazy rise.

4.5 amps, 39 volts. 175w rising to 8.6 ohms at 12.8v

Still 2 ohm nominal.

10 amps, 36.6 volts. 366w @ 3.7 ohms and 12.7v

Enough 2 ohm stuff. These are .5 nominal.

28 and 27.8. 778w @ 1 & 11.9v

25.8 and 31.8. 820w @ 1.2ohms & 12.4v

So, its doing close to rated. 820@1.2 and 12.4v. I imagine at alt charging levels that would wake up pretty good. You can judge for yourself if that's "clean" enough for you, but that's the beauty of an O-Scope. You can watch it when it's loaded down.

The best I could get out of it clean under load was 22a and 22v. That's 484w rising to 1 with a puurty wave.

Happy shopping!

Perfect example of thd. It's not a clipped signal but far from clean. I bet the audiopipe would have similar results. Glad to see a real clamp test.

Seriously t-fade can you do this with another budget amp like a Hifonics or similar to see if this is par for the course for budget brands. It would be really interesting.

Does this help? This is the AudioPipe apsm-2000.

Unloaded.

^^^^ That's a zoom of this pic showing the output.

And just for reference... This is a umm.... more expensive amp loaded down. This is a .5 nominal load on a very good amp making more than rated.

So the audiopipe ***** just as bad, I was really wondering about some other "budget amps" we all know that audiopipe kinda ***** to put it lightly. Would a powerbass asa, HF brz, or a RF prime amp have similar results. I guess what Im asking is how high up on the scale to do have to go before you get "clean" rated power
