04 accord. Well I'm running them off stock HU and a 3sixty.1. Kicker 2-channel w/ ~105 watts per side. Partially deadened doors. (right now gains are at 1/3... as set by the car shop)

With rock, they sound like crap. The tweets sound harsh and "tin"-ish. The mids seem very muffled. I placed my ear beside the mids and they have zero clarity or oomph, basically my sony speakers sounded better... and seems like the tweets are louder than the mids.

To top it off, my tweet is whining... think Im going to ground the RCAs on the

3sixty.1.

Whats the problem guys? Does it have something to do with the "sensitivity" setting on the 3.sixty.1?

Edit: the 3sixty.1 is located inside the center console... so I would have to go to the shop to get it fixed.

sounds like you might have road noise...but anyways GET A NEW HEADUNIT it will make a shitload of a difference

Definately fully deaden the doors. I have the same car and unless you fully deaden those doors you are not going to get a very good sound and anything you put in there is not going to sound very good. I love my Honda but they were not built for the world of aftermarket car audio.

Good Luck!

Thanks for the advice.

Remember you are amplifying/boosting a not so great signal from the OEM HU. A unit like a 3sixty only offers you eq control and OEM system expandability, but it does nothing in terms purifying the signal- polishes a turd in other words. So when you add amplification and more reveiling speakers-you may not like what you hear. I suggest doing what you can with the EQ and have it tuned as best as possible. Some OEM sources sound better than others, some are just too factory EQ'd for the OEM system that its pointless. I hate to say you wasted yor money, but you'll only enjoy the true benefits of aftermarket by changing the source altogether.

Also i dont think you your door per se is the actual problem. Many times its the resonance associated with the door panel itself that'll color/affect your response. You also have rear waves from the speaker that'll bounce their way to the front of the speaker via reflective surfaces-not good. A good way to tackle that is to dampen your inner door panel with a non reflective, absorbing material. I use a full can of cascade VB1sPRO aerosol on each door panel and it works very well. It works by turning vibration into low level heat.

^^^ that link takes you to a page that says browsing cascade audio but there arent any products displayed, but their products are easy to look through on there
