My rubicon died on me!

One night i was sitting at taco bell with nothing playing, then all of a sudden i hear my sub pulsing every few seconds, the pulse was slow and was like a heart. really random, i opened up the amp and nothing looked wrong but I dont really know what to look for. what do you guys think? should i just buy a new amp?

oh yeah, the amp is in protect and it still does that. as far as electrical upgrades, I have big 3, stock 100 amp alt, and 4 gauge welding wire power and ground

4 ga power won't make it pulse like that, especially with no sound on. Check your voltage at the amp. How long has you had that setup.

So it just stays in protect when you turn on your stereo AND it makes that thumping sound with music on pause? Sounds like the amp is broken.

But check ALL of the connections from the battery to the headunit and amp, sometimes weird things can happen when say, the remote wire is not getting a good connection or a tiny piece of speaker wire is touching the case.

do u have a dmm........check the input voltage.....then measure the voltage on ur ground

maby voltage regulator went out and your amp is get WAY to much + input try it with car not running?
