My New Hobby, RC airplanes

RC's are the only hobby I have found that were more expensive than car audio. I had to choose one and ended up switching to car audio last summer and old a bunch of my nitro gear.

You can get a decent RTR (buggy, monster, stadium) for 300-500 with everything you need minus a glow ignitor and gas but you end up breaking shit all the time and then upgrade the crappy stock stuff to something more powerful and it is just a never ending cycle.

I still have an RC10GT and a Mini-T i need to sell and that money is going to be used for my BL once I find the right amp to push it.

I would like a cheap electric rc helicopter to fly around the house, the radio shack ones are supposed to be half decent for about $50 bucks.

rc cars=thousands of dollarshis plain=30 bucks
Your not shitting either. I think my dad and I spent well over 3000 bucks in a couple summers racing our RC Hornet. I mean the RC itself was over 400 bucks and then to remain competitive, you had to do all kinds of aftermarket parts just like a regualr car. I mean we even had a tool box like you would use at a mechanics shop. Was a lot of fun, but got out of it because it was so expensive and too competitive. I just wanted to have fun, but people would get so pissed when they lost to the point they were ready to fist fight. Was quite funny at the time.

Planes are fun as well though. Buddy had one back in the day I took for a run. I ended up almost crashing it when I tried to land it. Also it was more than 30 bucks though. I think he said he had well over 2g's in it.

I've got a tower hobbies trainer kit.Had everything you need,Radio, servos, little glow fuel engine.Something like a 60"wingspan.Assembly was a peice of cake...But I never flew it.Didnt want to crash a destroy 400 bucks into th dirt.

RTRs are cheaper, which is what most of the people I know had(all $500>). Nowhere near that price, unless they spent money on new motors and shit. Which you dont have to. Im dam sure not spending that much on mine especially since Im not competing or going to be using it all the time.

Edit: you already said RTRs are cheaper. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

You know what else is an expensive hobby! Trains! My grandfather had this train setup downstairs that was too die for. I used to love going over there. I mean he built mountains and tunnels for the trains to go through, even was lite up and had flowing water, like real water that had a pump underneath the table to make it ripple like a lake effect. Was freaking rediculious, but dam I used to love the train setup. I couldnt even imagine how much it was. I do remember him saying something a long the lines of thousands and thousands of dollars.

My R/C car cost me about $900 when all was said and done. I did buy one of the best Radios I could get at the time as well as a better-than average servo for steering...... but it kicks *** //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif
