My New CDT Components...WOOT

Well, I got a nice present in the mail the other day, my new set of CDT EF-61's. They are a 6.5" midbass driver and a 1" silk tweet. Thanks to Don over at Island Sound, and NG for telling me where to get them...











They are going in fiberglassed kickpanels when I find time to make them, and are going to be fed 100watts rms when I get the amp all figured out. This should make my truck sound a hell of alot better now.

nope the standard ef set comes with that convertible 6.5, that's the same set i have.

hey man u may want to throw those more than 100w that's a lil low to me. i'm sending mine 180w a piece from the zap. i had 75w x 2 going to them from a power acoustik, b4 and they didn't sound as amazing as now.

i wasnt satified at all with my es-620's!!! i had the doors deadened,costom baffles,good clean amp,dqx-the works and i didnt like the midbass response. i want to hear double kick-drum come out of those little 6.5 woofers and i didnt hear alot come out of those mids. i think a 3 way would be the only way to go with cdt.

im not too familiar with the ES line but I know the CL ones kinda ****. Try giving more watts? I know they like their watts. Maybe the amp wasnt strong enough for them.

hell i was powering my es-620's with a dls A3(150x2@4ohm)- that to me sounds like plent of power. they just lacked in low end guitar midbass and double kick drum for metal. for classical and extreme instumental tunes thay sounded pretty good- cdt isnt that good for metal. i heard the hd series has more midbass than the es line though

everything cdt besides CL is supposed to be good. CL subs are pretty decent sounding from what i hear though

I have had the CL and still have them, they will be rear fill if I ever get a tahoe.

I beleive they are great speakers as long as you dont out over 100 watts to them, baffle them, mount the tweets in an open space (I had mine in door pods, they liked to overheat on me) Great entry line you can get for pretty cheap.
