okay for lets say 225 total with ship what is some good cheap gear? i know its not going to be near as loud as you guys real expensive system but what is something i can get for that price range i need help please

ok.. to start... whatever cd player u got, keep it, get a line convertor for the rca hookups, and its about 20$ aruond here. so that will save u money. and im taking it by "system" u only mean subs and an amp...

for subs... the first thing that comes to mind is crossfire... i think u can get a p1 series 12 on ebay for less than 100, thats a good start.

okay ill look for those what about this Clarion SW10X "10" 600 RMS watt car subwoofer and it says $38 i dont know if anythings good or not so just say its crap if it is

oh good point, 225 shipped is not that much either, lets break it down to what you will need to determin how much it will cost

Wires and install

Box for a single 10 or 12

Sub

Amp

HU or loc for stock hu

how much of this are your friends doing or is a local audio store doing the instal?

best bet is the classifieds/ebay. Probably your best bet is to get a diamond d612, d610, maybe a lil cheaper the d3 series. You could get a d6 for about 100 bucks. Also look into ascendant audio. If you go on ebay, you can get a prefab single box for like 40 bucks shipped. Also look there for a 4ga wiring kit. Should get you by for the time being. For an amp, you could look into a phoenix gold xenon, or similar. Going off my head, 100 for the sub, 30 for the wiring, 40 for the box, 20 for the line converter, and 100-150 for the amp. Should be able to land you a decent sub and amp combo for about 300. Thats probably the best your going to do for the money.

Or you could go to circuit city and buy a jenson bandpass with subs for 140 bucks. Someguy on a review forum said he hit 152 deebees with 2 sony xplod amps and that box... HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH no dont do it.

i found a long time ago, there was a pawn shop locally selling 4 gauge kit for 30$, wasnt the best wire... but it got it done on someone elses install trying to stay cheap, so try a pawn shop in your area that has a lot of car audio stuff... might get a good deal on wire there.

umm... this could be a disaster... 12's and 10's enclosures are different sizes, like, internally, not just from the size of the holes on them :-\

first you need to find the internal dimensions of you r box and match subs to that. If you put the wrong subs in there, it will sound like paris hilton singing.
