Hi, i just hooked up 2 of my jl 15w6's at 1.5 ohms to my kx1200.1 and when i turn it up, the amp makes a clicking noise. I took the cover off to see what was going on and it seems that the green light on the amp dims everytime it clicks and sometimes the protection light turns on. I thought it was my rca's before i looked at the lights. Am i not giving it enough power or something? or if you have had an incident like this, PLEASE HELP ME OUT!

what kind of wiring do you have? What gauge? What vehicle and what amperage is your alt? Have you looked into the big 3? C'mon... details //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

I have a 0 gauge power wire and a 4 gauge ground running to the kx1200.1 with a 150 amp fuse, i have a 4 gauge wire for the power and ground for the Audiofonics 1500w, this is in a Honda Civic and i have no idea what my alternator ampage is at. And i dunno what the big three is?... lol sorry

Yeah it plays and hits really hard, and i've tried new rca's. what it would do is play then it would click for a second then play for a coulpe of seconds and then click again. It would repeat this over and over.

Click here to learn a bit about the Big 3. It will help out with voltage drops by reinforcing your factory wiring. Try that before you even think about a capacitor.

As far as your wiring goes, check your ground. It might be a tad insufficient. Make sure it's on solid metal- Honda uses lots of crazy composites. Maybe like a seatbelt bolt or something. Also sand off any paint, because paint is an insulator. If you've got 0 awg goting into the amp for power, then you should have 0 awg for ground, too. That ground wire is important.

Definately get a larger ground wire and do the Big 3. That will help the voltage at the amplifier stay more steady. At CC, we had a 600w Infinity amp in a Civic, and it was tearin it up. The voltage would dip to ~10.5v, even with a capacitor. That isn't good for the car, or for the amp. You definately need to do some work on your electrical system.
