Gotta go with bones on this one ~ I think there are more significant gains to be made by improving the front stage at this point rather than going with a different HU.

I will say this however....

If upgrading the head unit is the way you decide to go (if, in fact, you upgrade anything at this point) search through the classifieds here as well as on other forums. honestly....take out ALL of those co-ax speakers. Get a good set of comps--amp them. and then buy a new headunit

I agree with both, I'd just get a good component set and then upgrade the H/U.

yes...I had a cheese dog Xtreme sound hu in my work truck and it was ok. It broke 2.5 years later (55 bucks well spent bnib from bb) and i put my sony mp70 in my truck and the differance was night and day. It was a lot clearer and a lot louder. infinity ref 6.5 comps and 2 10's RF.

I can tell you from personal experience that I did just what those early post suggested. First, I upgraded to infinity kappa's for the front.
