My grandmother/grandfather was OCD about their house so everything is immaculate even has brand new windows and garage door from this year..

I guess it is more respectful to keep the house instead of getting rid of it..

If you rent it out you'll get around the crazy sales taxes, plus you still own it as it goes up in value. No brainer really. You want the 1st and last month for the move in, they pay for gas, electricity, ect, ect. This way you own an asset that keeps paying you.
