a little bit more of everything.. the last one with jl audio basket played 142,2 in a box that played music well, and in a car (mercedes) not so good for numbers,

motor look interesting. the problem i see is the spider landing is very close to the cone so rearward excursion will be a poblem..

that is not a problem right now, it is the surround being the "weak" part and setting the limits and dont allow it to travel so far..

Than the JL? I dont remember the W7 8's spider size off the top of my head, but based on its xmax potential versus its competition, the 8" W7 does not have an inferior spider landing size. But the OP makes a good point about the proprietary surround potentially causing problems down the road.

I was comparing this modified basket landing to the conventional style 8" 12 spoke basket.
