my friend's L5's just aren't loud??

well my friend had his l5's wired to where the amp kept cutting out at high levels, so i told him we should we wire them to take the load of the amp to 2ohm instead of 1......so we wired his 2 L5's like this:

on one channel

+ from the amp to + on speaker..and the + the to the other + terminal on the speaker

- from the amp to the - on the speaker...and the - to the other - terminal on the speaker......

on the other channel we wired it the same way...so would that leave the amp on at 1 or 2ohm....either way the subs were barely putting out sound from the 1800 watt poweracoustik power series amp

well, its probably the power acoustik amp. I just got rid of mine because it wasn't doing much to my memphis subs

If they're wired @ 1 ohm, you cant wire it to 2 ohms..

I'm assuming they're dual 4's since they're wired @ 1 ohm, so you can either wire them @ 1 or 1 ohms..

My advice, get another amp.

dont kmow dude,go to rockfords website and do a wiring wizard search to see what comes up.my 1 10 inch l5 SLAMMED! for a 10.lol

they are both dvc 4ohm subs

the power of that amp may be pretty low at 4ohms also

2 4 dvc subs cannot be wired to 2 ohms

get a dmm and make sure they are wired right and set gains with a dmm and it will sound loud

depeding on how much power that amp trully puts out and wat kind of box u have yet say wat kind of box if so i missed it

it's a ported box...it's prolly poorly built, the guy that owned the subs before my friend built it...we don't even know what i'ts tuned to, and i doubt the guy that built it does either, he just built a box but a square port on it and wala it's ported..lol

wow so it probally isnt even designed right does it just have a square hole in it and no actual port with a board that makes the port

it has a port, it's square but we have no idea what the tuning is for it.....but they barely put out any bass at all

now if i bridged this across his 2 channel stereo amp, wouldnt that drop it to 2 ohms
