Sundown Audio Dealer
I just got a Jeep Cherokee for a winter beater. It's really not that bad for $500 but it needs some work. The paint is shot and it has a couple mechanical issues but overall it's not that bad of a deal. Anyway, I'm not looking to impress anyone at a car show or anything, I just want this thing to get loud for comp but have the ability to listen to it daily. By that I mean I want to be able to burp my subs (Nightshades) for comp and just be able to switch some wires (to raise impedance to reduce power and current consumption) and drive around daily. I'm pretty much set on Sundown gear but I need to get into more electrical.

What kind of batteries should I use? I'm thinking 2 or 3 total with a 300 amp alt under the hood.

What kind of Head unit? I need something that won't skip but a good solid headunit. I don't need anything crazy.

Are two runs of 0 gauge enough from front to back?

What are some very basic rules for a couple classes?

What are any other useful tips that you guys are willing to share?

I'm a complete noob to setting up a vehicle for SPL comp because I've only done daily installs. Boxes are not a problem as long as I have plans. Money is the only issue at the moment but I'm working on that. So what do you guys think? Thanks for your input. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

it all depends on what class you are wanting to run, what organization, and what kind of numbers your wanting to put up. You can use so many different brands its all about what you want and your budget.

I can run anything really. What are some of the classes I can run in? The number don't really matter because I'm just out to have fun.

Thanks snoop. I have a feeling I'll be talking to you much more lol.

Nice Jeep by the way. Mine is a POS //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

I owe a big thanks to Snoopdan for the info I got from him. This build will probably begin in the late summer and it probably won't be finished till the winter. The jeep itself has many mechanical issues that need to be fixed before its safe to drive.
