My Fiberglass console thread.

Building a fiberglass console for my cousin... I'm building it in two pieces, this is the front, havent started the rear section yet... I'm going to mate the front and back together and creating one piece. The raised section will house the head unit... tell me what you think! And yeah, obviously it isnt done yet....

tonight I'm going to start laying down the bondo... more pictures then.

lookin good.

make sure you sand it all nice. if you have problems getting the filler smooth - mix it with a little acetone and it will thin up. and when it starts to harden... get a small cup of acetone and put a glove on, dip your finger into the acetone and smooth out any lumpy sections.

the acetone will 'eat' away the filler and you can smooth it out - much like sanding, but WAY eaiser.

dont do TOO much. but it helps take out lots of small imperfections that would take twice as long to sand.
