Well, it happened. She is a smart cookie and apparently knows how to launch a 3' flash fire out of our outlet. She is fine, but the barrette blew up like a fuse (thank goodness) and the zap went in her right ring finger and out where her pinky and ring meet by the hand, her fingernail was immediately charred and Heidi ran her to the bathroom to cool it off and clean it. The outlet is wrecked, but the baby is good. Happened on Sunday. Here is a pic. We protected every outlet in our previous house but none in this house, apparently we were naive. I was cooking breakfast on our new stove, I think Siena was trying to tell us she wanted her eggs, pancakes, and body "well done"?

LoL -

well i dont care whatever term you use, she zapped, lifted, frazzled, blew up, fried, smoked (but didnt inhale //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/laugh.gif.48439b2acf2cfca21620f01e7f77d1e4.gif joke guys...) herself like a fool.

my wife did some digging and found that about 100 babies die each yr in the us from this sort of thing.

just a word to the wise - childproof the fvck out of your house.

Wow, glad she's ok. My wife was an electrician and I was always worried for her, she got it pretty bad a few times and she's not much bigger than your daughter lol.

haha, a small "spinner" wife ey? I got one of them too //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif I flipped the wrong breaker just the day before when switching out two ceiling lights in our master bathroom, flipped the switch to "on" so when I flipped the breaker it would turn on but uhhhh it turned on when I flipped it. Talk about lucky.

Aww , poor little thing. I feel for you dude , i have 2 little girls of my own. 4 and 1....... and my outlets are open. Maybe i should get some covers. Glad she is ok.
they are cheap and quick to put in, and worth it. some you just plug in as covers, others are whole new wall plates and you slide the prongs in and to the side to expose the open outlet, those are pretty nice but are a pita in the dark.

lol I never had this problem. My dad taught me just like with guns... respect it. Be aware of and educated about it... and then when you're not using it stay the hell away from it. That was enough for us. I guess not everyone is born able to heed warnings though. Maybe I was lucky.

Most baby covers dont do ish for my kids.....done used every brand there is known to man....dont matter, kids take them right on off......

Glad yours is okay, but if anything like my curious George's than it wont matter. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

I usually turn into the Incredible Hulk when I see them going for it and it works till I am not paying attention.....I try to block outlets with furniture now....yeah, what fun that is to plug ish in....
