MY CVRs Aren't Loud Enough!

I have 2 Kicker CVR 10s dual 2 ohm powered by a Kicker ZX 750. Could the reason why my subs aren't loud enough for me be because I am using stock speakers and I can only use a good 1/3 of my head units volume before my speakers distort? My volume goes to I think 35 (Alpine headunit) and I usually only play around 15-20 before the speakers distort.

First off, turn the freaking BASS down on your head unit. That's the first place to start.

Second, it is possible, sure, do you not have any way to crossover your door speakers or control your woofers independently?

no, its probably because you bought a pair of subs that compare to sony xplodes and a prefab box(from what i can tell).

Bass on headunit is at 0. Turn it down from there?

Set up your amp to supply it's power at the max volume you listen to your head unit. So set it to hit RMS @ 20 on your HU...

It will work.

ut I suggest fixing your distortion problems first.

Glue some cardboard around the outside of your cones, and that will essentially make the subs bigger. More cone area=more spl.

I tried that. But do I keep the bass on headunit at 0. It goes from -7 to 7

You tried it?

set the HPF to 125hz and up for stock

I have an HPF and it's set to 80hz
