I have 3 Alpine SWE-1042 Type-E 10" 4-ohm subwoofer and a ATX1000.2 autotek amp. The most i could have my volume is at 16, 17-18 the amp will shut off in 10-30 mins and at 20 or higher the amp shuts off. Do I need a higher wattage amp?

You need 8ohm subs.

the speakers are:

Impedance 4 ohms

RMS Power Range (Watts) 50-250

Peak Power Handling (Watts) 750

the amp:

at 4 ohms is 250 x 2

Is that what your asking? Im new to all this. Only reason i decided to get it was cause the subs were given to me.

your subs are wired down to 1.333 ohms... the amp is only stable at 4ohms bridged. take one of the subs out and just have 2 subs you should be fine man..

just make sure to turn the gains down on the amp so you don't blow the subs

you can series them subs up to 12 ohms until you can change things up ... like find another amp or change out your enclosure ...

might not be as loud, but it should run ALOT better ...

Just my suggestion here ...
