my amp (insanity to run under the impedance limit?)

hi i have an old *** Alpine V12 amplifier, the model is MRV-1000...

it does 400watts RMS on the bridge@12v and 600watts RMS@14.4v...

is it insanity to run it on 2 ohms or 1ohm? lol...

what oculd go wrong? is it just the temperature that screws the amplifier if ran under impedance allowed? what if i mantain it on a very good temperatura with fans and stuff, will i be able to run it below 4ohms?

With Alpine amps I wouldnt recommend going below the lowest rated impedance on the amp. It will more then likely fry my friend had a V12 and wired it incorrectly to two subs and it saw a 1 ohm load and fried.

I wonder if impedance rise would help you out at all? Might want to ask some of the forum members who know how to calculate it if they can tell you what ohm load you would be presenting to the amp.

???

i know the impedance im running it at, and i know how to associate speakers to get the impedance i want... what i want to know is if i can run it below the impedance.. not saying i will, just knowing if i can... temperature is all that matter when running it at 2ohms?

Basically what happens is as you play music, the impedence that the amplifier sees is constantly changing.

There are about 90980 factors that play in and cause it to change.

Some other people can get more technical with it Im sure.

But you impedence is not a constant 3.8 ohms, or whatever it is for your sub. It is constantly changing.

Put a dmm on the coils, set it to measure the resistance, and push the sub down.

Watch what it does.

i've tried reading the speakers ohms while the sub is in play but gotten none stable whacky results... would it help if i play a test tone on the speaker (this all being done at s set high volume) would this reading help at all the other equations to help know the true impedience rise?
