My 4x6's are FAPPING!

seriously...today i got my new 4 chan amp and amped my two front speakers. I have Power Acoustik 4x6 plates. The amp is 125x4 rms @ 4ohm. (or so it says) Whn i put my volume past a certain level, the speaker "faps." thats the only word i know to use on how to describe it. Like it's trying to mid-bass...and its failing miserably....is something simply loose, that i can glue back together, or is it new speaker time for dave? The speaker ratings are 140 max, 70 rms, so i had the gains on the amp down to 1/4. I thought that would compensate....

no, they both stilll play music just fine. But once i get past 19 on my volume control, the things start "bomp bomp bomp"...like its trying too hard. I also failed to mention its only on the passenger side.

well 1/4 gain isnt nessecarily low enough power

on my amp it puts out rms on speaker channels at about 1/3 gain 125 watts

if you have access to a dmm i would try that to check your gains.

but it is possible that the speakers just crapped, or is bottoming out //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif possibly because of power.
