Im using a DMM for the first time to set my gains, and the one i have has AC Mode, DC Mode, and then under each mode it has sub modes (600v, 200v, 20m, 20k, 2V etc) I have no clue what to put it on if i am trying to use it to set my amplifier gain. Some people have told me use DC mode 20v, some said AC 20v, so im very confused.

what voltage are you trying to achieve? if its 20v or less, use the 20v AC setting. if its over 20V AC, use the 200V AC setting.

For my speaker amp, 14.1, for my sub amp, 34.6. The guy that actually let me borrow the multi-meter told me to use DC mode, so im very confused!!!

And on the AC mode side, there is only a "200v" mode, there is no 20v mode. It goes from 200v to 20m. On the DC mode side there is a 200v and a 20v though.

Who told you to use DC????? do what moe said, if its under 20 volts use the 20v setting over 20 volts use the 200v setting.
Edit: Use the 200v setting

The kid's DMM that im using told me DC. And there is no 20v setting on AC, just 200v. So i should just use the 200v for both amps? One of them I am setting to 14 volts though.

Ok, thanks alot guys! //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif Dunno why he told me to use DC though, maybe he was confused?
