has anyone testd or heard these subs yet? circuit city has them. i was wondering if they are made any better quality and performance wise. i've heard a few say that the plastic surround and the tinsel leads[whatever they are], could have been made better on the 2001 model with the grey plastic surround. if you can give any comments holla back!! by the way the subs look tight, but i wonder if they can perform as good as they look?

one word man, nice, they rock, as always MTX pulls through again. they are supurb. i just baught a new 15 inch 8000 and it pounds. get em if u can. i wouldnt say that there that much better than last years but they are still very powerful

Speaking of circuit city. I was told that the 6000 series is capable of far more SPL than the 8000 series. Being that I have never listened to the 8000, can anyone out there confirm this? I seriously doubt this, but who knows.

Actually a CC employee told me this. I kinda figured he was full of b/s. Maybe he was thinking I was in, to buy a sub, and being they don't carry the 8000, he'd tell me a crock of sh!t, so I would buy the 6000.

dude... you had almost TWICE the power going to the 8000. that hardly seems like an accurate comparison. but, i must say, the 8000 is such a better quality sub than the 6000 that it SHOULD out perform the 6000.

My local CC does not carry the 8000 series either!!! Of course they don't carry much of anything but crap either. I have wanted to hear the chrome 8000s but I don't know anyone that has them!!!

yea but IMRAL3 the RMS power on the 6000 is 250 and the RMS power on the 8000 is 500 (400) for the chrome ones. so for the 6000 i had 80% of the RMS power and for the 8000 i had 75%. thats how i compared them.//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif
