MTX Thunder 500.1 Protect Mode

I've got an MTX 500.1 connected to my stock head unit that will not come out of protect mode. Worked flawlessly for years until I had some recent battery issues and shorts in my headlights. Resolved that and still can't figure out my amp.

The amp is getting 12.5 to the terminals. Ground and all fuses are good. Disconnected speaker and RCA cables and it still will not power on. Remote turn on is also receiving proper voltage. Any ideas?

Try installing it in a different vehicle, if the problem persists it might be a fried amp. If you wanted to be sure you could ask your local install shop if they could hook it up for you to test it, they should have some sort of setup to test amps in the shop. If they don't have one, any pawn shop that sells amps will have one you could ask to use.

amp could be bad if you had battery issues. if you have just power, ground and remote connected and the protect light is on then it may have internal issue. maybe check your ground?
